Who isn't delighted by the vibrant colors of fall foliage? I sure am — see them fall from my animated Nit Wits comic #44 "Fall Tree" (watch the comic for a few seconds to see the falling fun).

You too can have all kinds of creative fun with colorful fall leaves. Use them for artful textured drawings or preserve them in wax paper. Or if you desire paper cutting fun, use my printable leaf templates for leaf-based projects: fall cubical and bulletin board decorations, art projects, scrapbook embellishments, rubber stamping catchers, name tags, and autumn gift tags.

I grant teachers and home school parents permission to use my leaf templates in the classroom and home-based art activities.

Printing Tips & Creative Project Prompts:

• Inkjet and laser printer friendly. All printable leaf templates are PDF formatted and can be printed to an inkjet or laser printer on regular copy paper, colored paper, or textured paper.

• For extra durability, print pages on thick textured paper, construction paper, or card stock.

• Cut leaves out along black line or leave an 1/8" frame around the line for a buffered look.

• Make leaf gift tags by punching a hole in the leaf, attaching a string, and writing a message on the front or back.

• Make fabric leaves by pinning or taping a leaf to fabric and cutting out around it with sharp scissors (see fabric leaf inspiration here).

• Make a reverse template (void leaf area) by carefully cutting the leaf out of the page and using the resulting "template" to paint or color leaves onto your canvas of choice. Firm card stock and a craft knife are recommended for making reverse templates.

• Make leaf-shaped embellishments and use for rubber stamping, scrapbooking, or memory books. Adjust the template page or leaf sizes in your printer's "print page" setup.
